We utilize the Positive Action Bible Curriculum, which focuses on academic learning about the Bible while also including personal application and character development. Throughout the curriculum, the common thread is to always point scholars to Jesus.
We use Singapore Math at GCA, and our scholars love the hands-on approach to math! Singapore is a tried and tested curriculum that produces great results by using the approach of starting with concrete and moving to abstract with each topic. We also utilize the IXL program to support learning, and that is directly connected to our Singapore curriculum.
Our younger scholars start in the Abeka program to get a strong foundation in phonics. This program has been shown to produce wonderful results, and we are so impressed with our Kindergarteners ability to read! We currently use BJU and a blend of supporting resources with our older scholars as we work to incorporate classical literature as well as vocabulary based on studying Latin roots, prefixes, and suffixes.
The ACSI purposeful design curriculum beautifully aligns to the Next Generation Science Standards, which are nationally recognized and rigorous standards. It is a Christian curriculum as well, teaching everything in alignment with Scripture. The labs are detailed and challenging, preparing scholars to go deeper into scientific fields in the future.
While Social Studies is a blend of Abeka, Master Books, and BJU, we strive to give a well-rounded approach to social studies with a heavy focus on understanding our government, how it works, and why our country was founded. We also emphasize map skills throughout the grade levels. In all of our studies, we strive to watch the hand of God move throughout history and take away all of the wonderful lessons from those who have gone before us.
Scholars will experience enrichment classes such as art, music, PE, Spanish, health, math and reading labs. Additionally, middle school will have the opportunity to choose from several elective options such as journalism, career readiness, and band, in addition to the traditional electives.
